Konstruct is an arts based music and performance project comprising of myself, Andrew Heath and Simon McCorry. Three (squared) is the second album we've produced and was originally released on audio cassette by the specialist label, Rusted Tone Recordings.

2020 will always be remembered for the restrictions we've all had to face. Creatively, this was a challenge but also turned out to be an opportunity. Planning a way to continue to collaborate, we turned the limitations into a set of rules to work with. We each recorded three short audio elements, one to keep and two to pass on to the others. With those three elements, we each constructed a track. This process was then repeated 9 times, resulting in a total of 27 (3x3x3) files, each one a unique sound. The elements varied from acoustic and electronic instruments to field and object recordings. The main rules were that we could only use the elements supplied but use any form of treatments and manipulations we wanted.

The resulting pieces pushed the boundaries of our imagination, creativity and skill. The variation of the tracks reflecting the breadth and width of our individual approaches, yet coming together as a cohesive experience.
