Temporal Discoveries is my first collection of musical pieces. They explore how time affects my sense of space, place and being.

Creating sounds and images are my response to what I hear and see around me. A photograph will stir a mood, which will in turn inspire me to create a sound. Likewise, the sounds I find will evoke a feeling and a desire to create images.

I embrace technology. It provides an endless range of creative possibilities when I work with sounds and images, enabling me to manipulate and mould to the limits of my
imagination.

Within these pieces there are recordings of dozens of clocks ticking in an antique shop and of a joyous group of women bathers in the sea. There are electroacoustic recordings of the watch on my wrist and pulsating patterns generated by a modular synthesiser. There is the satisfying squelch of my feet squashing seaweed and the gentle bell sound of a porcelain bowl.

The cover image is based on a photograph of an unfinished and abandoned concrete building. In the same way that recorded sounds have a temporal quality so this image shows a moment in the existence of a place.

I’m Alexander Caminada and Phonsonic is my musical persona.
